Summer Schools

When the summer vacations approach, students have an excellent opportunity to utilise the break to the maximum. They could opt in for a summer school.

Summer Schools are usually classes held by Universities worldwide for 1-2 months and they even grant credits, formal qualifications for the units / subjects undertaken.

What is a Summer School?

In high school, college or university, students can enroll in classes for credit to be taken into account in their grade point average or their transcript. Generally, this credit is in one of two categories: remediation or advancement. For remediation, the summer school is used to make up credits lost through absence or failure. For advancement, the summer school is used to obtain credit for classes to accelerate progress toward a degree or in order to lessen the load of courses during the regular school year. Sometimes, if a student fails summer school, he or she might repeat a grade although this doesn’t happen often.

Even Ivy League and Top Universities worldwide offer select subjects for students who cannot usually are unable to apply and study there. The admission criteria is comparatively easier as there are lesser applicants to understake studies in summer breaks.

Also there is a good opportunity to explore a new country and a whole new education system. The costs varies according to programs  and units undertaken. A summer school can be in any subject / field depending on the institution chosen. School and University students can apply.
